Unified CPN (Maoist) cadres have threatened a former child soldier who spoke about her involvement and experience in the Maoist army at United Nations Security Council last month, Nagarik daily reported.

Four persons from a Maoist cantonment in Shaktikhor came to Sita Tamang's house on Sunday and told her and her family that 'anything might happen to them.'

Terrified from the threat, Tamang, 18, called up local journalists and human rights workers to inform about the intimidation.

According to the statement she gave at the UNSC last month, she was forcibly recruited to the Maoist army at the age of 13.

At present Tamang studies at grade nine in a local school.  nepalnews.com
